Alright, here's a comic strip I like reading, it's dedicated to all those of you who have a significant other far away...
A little background info: the duck fell in love with another duck, but the she duck migrated south, but through his anthropomorphic abilites, the male duck didn't have to go south...

Ben Harper - Diamonds on the Inside
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
Emiliana Torrini - Fisherman's Woman
Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape
The Killers - Hot Fuss
MxPx - Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo

So, if from that list you can deduce what kind of moods I've been in lately, I'll be impressed... From that list, I don't think I could.

Mark and I are now moved in, and quite settled into our new flat. It's quite the place now. We've even got a tv and couch in the living room. If any of you ever want to stop by, it's the bottom right apt in Hunt.

In other news, I have joined college singers at Prov. I'm one of 5 basses, and more specifically I've been asked to take the role of baritone (one of the very few). It'll be fun. over reading week we go touring through a few of the northern states, so that should be fun.

I'm not sure what else to say, I just thought I'd update a little about my life right now.

Snow, snow, glorious snow
12:51pm 31/12/2006

timuehling
Last night I was excited due to the fact that we had copious amounts of snow drifting down from the clouds. I did not expect to get too much though, 'cause we really haven't had a lot of snow this year. This morning I awoke and went through my Sunday morning routine of preparing for church, which really just means i had a shower and put on nice clothes. I went upstairs and my mom told me church was canceled. I didn't know they could even cancel church. I then proceeded to gaze outside to see near a foot of snow had piled up overnight.

Even though I spent a good hour voiding our driveway of snow, I still love the day. If today were a school day, it would be the perfect snow day. The temperature is mild: -9°C. There is a layer of fresh snow upon the ground. The sun is bright, and everything is white. It's the kind of day they'd have to cancel school, yet no one would stay indoors. The toboggan hill will be packed. Ski hills will be crowded.

On top of the perfect weather, it is New years eve. A chance to remember, and forget, the year that was. I will take this chance to remember my accomplishments, and put behind me all the things I am ashamed of.

Another quick anecdote to add to this pile of perfection: My mom decided to make a breakfast of bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and coffee.

Today is a good day!
mood: indescribable

Okie, Today is the evening of December 22, 2006. I spent the last 2 days working at friesens, painting. I think some of the fumes were getting to my head, I was a little light headed by the end of the days.

Twice this week i have gone to a movie without any prior knowledge of the movie. I went to Open season with Arlene and Lindsay; it was a decent movie, but not amazing. Today I went to A night at the Mueseum with my mother; this was a good movies. Still, not amazing, but good.

I have also spent numerous hours bored out of my mind... It's not all bad though, I discovered that I really really enjoy the music of Coldplay. Until this point, I knew them, but not really...

Finally, I've been looking into getting an apartment next semester, for those of you who know prov, it's in Sem house... All I need is a roommate, and I'm working on that.

Happy Holidays all of you, and have a merry CHRIST-mas!

It is now officially Christmas holidays. I don't have to work till.. well, till Thursday. But that's cause I'm a poor student who needs all the money i can scrounge up. Anyway, I'm in Altona, with nothing to do. So if any of you are in the area stop by. If you're not in the area call me, I've got 3 weeks of nothingness. It is however nice to have a bit of a break from the stresses of school though.

Snow

I'm sure you all know that I adore snow. Well today we got snow. School wasn't canceled, but that's alright, I didn't have class until 3:20. So I had lots of time to bask in the glory of the snow. Anyway, I went to chapel, and after chapel they announced that all 3:20 classes were canceled! So I went back to dorm where Visser and I decided to start building our snow fort. We have it attached to bergan just outside my window. Our hope is to get it atleast as high as the top of my window, and put a roof on it. We're hoping to have campouts in it by the time we're done. And since it's right by my room I can run power to it, and watch movies in it... and it's not in dorm, so girls are invited.

Noah
12:44am 21/11/2006

timuehling
This evening just after I returned from care group I got a call from my older brother. As some of you may know, he was taking care of my cat, Noah, for the year, since I couldn't have cats in dorm. He informed me that my cat had just been struck by a car. For some reason I instantly decided to write a poem about him... it's not much, and I'm not claiming to be a good poet, but It was worth trying.

Noah was a little cat,
with fur of grey and white.
He was quick and pestering one,
who ran around so fast.
Noah never seemed to settle down,
unless we held him still.
He moved 3 times in one year,
but liked every home.
Now he will run no more,
that car was just too fast.

I'll upload some pictures of him soon.

Coffee, Work, and Girls
03:23pm 18/11/2006

Well first off, I got a new coffee maker, I gave in and bought a drip machine, it's not as nice as my french press, but it's simple, and it's a 12 cup rather then 4. But there in lies a problem, It is right beside my computer, so i can sit at my computer and have an endless supply of coffee.. I just realized I've already had 6 cups today! I'll have to pay attention to that, but it's nice having it with a timer, I can wake up to the smell of coffee.

Secondly, work is... well, boring. I spend 6 hours in the school, often with nothing to do. I walk around, watch movies, and the other day I even fell asleep in the school. Some days, like last night, I have people come visit me, last night two good female friends of mine spent the evening keeping me company. Which brings me to the next topic: Girls. A topic to which I'm not going to say much, just that it's really been stressing me out lately.

Oh, and on Thursday Sherri brought me some more Gilmore Girls to watch... I've watched 7 episodes since then... I should be working on homework, but it's a really addicting show at a really intense part right now.

Just the other day I gave into apple. I bought an iPod. Don't get me wrong, i'm still against the rising craze that is mac computers, but honestly, they've got good mp3 players, and i got mine at a pretty good price.

In other news, i'm very busy this year, but i'm having a lot of fun. I seem to be doing something just about all the time... it helps that i'm working 2 jobs.

Some people at school have started playing an online game called kings of chaos... it's a fairly fun/simple game, below is a link to it... every time you click on this link, i get another person in my army... so if you feel so inclined, help me out, and if you decide you want to play the game, even better.

Hockey
06:48pm 30/06/2006

timuehling
Alright, I don't know how many of you are from manitoba, and for those of you whom are, I don't know how many pay attention to the news, but anyway...

Over the last few weeks there's been a story about twin high school girls who want to play hockey at their high school. The catch is they want to play for the guys team even though there is a girls team.

So lets say they're allowed to tryout for the team, and they make it. Great for them, but that means that there are two guys who will be cut from the team. Should these two guys then be able to try out for the girls team? If the two guys weren't allowed to play on the girls team, the girls shouldn't be allowed to play for the guys team. If the girls team is opened up to guys, who's to stop all the guys who didn't make the guys team to try out for the girls team, and posibly take over half of it?

If they're going to argue it's against their constitutional right to be barred from playing on a mens team, then they should be argueing there should just be one league for guys and girls...

I hope that makes sense.

I haven't heard any one mention livejournal to me in months, and then all of a sudden today, two people complained about my lack of recent postage. So i figured it's about time...

Since school ended in april I've been working at friesens, on yearbooks. not a bad job, it has its fun times. I work with some good people; during breaks we go outside and play frisbee... a great way to break up a 10 hour shift.

I may be going to work at Midway Bible Camp again this summer, which would be great fun. I have to decide relatively soon...

Just incase any of you are wondering, I'm still single, and if any of you know a good girl, feel free to send her my way...

there's not a whole lot else going on in my life right now, but i'm having fun. hope you all are too

    evolution

    timuehling
Here's an exerpt from a Scott Addam's novel(the dilbert guy) that I liked. It is an interesting concept.. btw, this author is messed up and has some weird theories, but some of them seem to make sense.

Imagine that an asteroid lands on earth and brings with it an exotic bacteria that kills all organic matter on Earth and then dissolves without a trace. A million years later, intelligent aliens discover Earth and study our bones and our possessions, trying to piece together our history. They might notice that all of our cookware--the pots and pans and plates and bowls--all seemed to be related somehow. And the older onews were quite different from the newer ones. The earliest among them were crude bowls, all somewhat similar, generally made of clay or stone. Over time, the bowls evolved into plates and coffee cups and stainless-steel frying pans.
The aliens would create compelling charts showing how the dishes evolved. The teacup family would look like its own species, related closely to the beer mug and the water glass. An observer who looked at the charts would clearly see a pattern that could not be coincidence. The cause of this dishware evolution would be debated, just as we debate the underlying cause of human evolution, but the observed fact of dishware evolution would not be challenged by the alien scientists. The facts would be clear. Some scientists would be bothered by the lack of intermediate dishware species--say, a frying pan with a beer mug handle--but they would assume it to exist somwhere undiscovered.

anyway, that's from a book called God's Debris. you can get a free copy in pdf form at http://www.andrewsmcmeel.com/godsdebris/
if you're bored and want an interesting book to read try it. Don't take it as fact, but let your mind explore posibilites.

    Koolaid dilema
    08:56pm 27/03/2006

    timuehling
Over this past year at school I've been collecting kool-aid points from all the kool-aid I drank(which ended up being quite a bit).
I now have exactly 2200 koolaid points and am trying to decide what to do with them so i thought I'd ask for suggestions.

    Here are my main options
    1) kool-aid jug, spoon, cups, and a shirt
    2) kool-aid underwater digital camera

It's not a life changing decision, but I don't post often, so this is my attempt to do so.

    Mac wanna bes

    timuehling
Okay, I've got a bit of a beef. I've noticed a lot more people getting mac computers, which doesn't really bother me, I've used them, don't mind them, but I still prefer my Pc.

What does bug me is people who have a Pc, but have a mac theme set up. So all their icons are the mac ones, the start menu is designed to look like the mac, people moving their icons to the right side of the screen, and even changing the mouse pointers, and the buttons in the top right corner of windows(close, maximize, minimize).

If they want to pretend they have a mac, why don't they buy a mac instead?

It probably seems weird to post something like this, but Jenae was complaining I didn't post anything, and since nothing really exciting is going on, I did this.
